Dr. Pam served from 2009 to 2014 as the President and CEO of the American Optometric Society, and is currently the Executive Director of The Optometric Society, Inc. and President/CEO of Optometric CE, Inc. Dr. Pam is a 1969 graduate of the University of Redlands, a 1973 graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry (O.D.), and a 1983 graduate of the Loma Linda College of Law (J.D.).
She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a Fellow Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academies of Practice (FNAP) in Optometry (the top 150 optometrists in the US). Dr. Pam was the first woman to serve on the California State Board of Optometry and the California Optometric Association Board of Trustees, and the first optometrist to serve on the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance. |
She is the author of 7 books, publishes widely, and has served as a contributing or consulting editor to numerous publications. Dr. Miller lectures extensively on a wide variety of topics and serves as an expert witness in the areas of medical record keeping and documentation and Polycarbonate - Safety lenses, Duty to Warn.
Dr. Miller has been active in the community, including serving on the Lighthouse for the Blind board, the Highland Chamber of Commerce board and serving as the Highland Secret Santa. She has served on the Vision Evaluation Team for the International Special Olympics and volunteers with numerous animal programs, including Wolf Haven International and Pilots & Paws. She is part of the Red Rover Emergency Animal Rescue (EARS) program.
In January, 2002, Dr. Pam opened Highland International Travel and is among the top 5% of agents to earn the Master Cruise Counselor and Certified Travel Counselor credentials. Dr. Miller holds a Glaucoma and Therapeutic license, is CA state board certified to prescribe eye medications, treat glaucoma, and offers comprehensive vision care, contact lenses, visual therapy, and low vision services.

Our Staff
Effie Biggs, Senior Optometric Assistant
Effie moved to Southern California from Montana. She has worked with Dr. Pam as an optometric assistant since 1994, and celebrated over 25 years caring for our patients in 2014. Since childhood Effie has loved animals and has always included one or more as part of her immediate family. She is responsible for our billing and insurance department, as well as patient care.

DeNese Christopherson, Optometric Assistant
DeNese Christopherson has been with our office for over 10 years and is well known throughout the Highland area. She and her family have been active both in the community and in her church. DeNese loves people and enjoys music and the arts. DeNese is our primary front office assistant and is always happy to assist our patients in any way she can.

Value Line
If you need a back-up pair of glasses or a supplemental prescription for the computer, driving, reading or just peace of mind, consider our Value Line frame and lens (CR-30 plastic or Polycarbonate) package. We will be happy to supply you with complete details.
Computer Correction
If you work on the computer at work and/or home for any extended period of time, then a Computer Prescription is an absolute must. You will need to have a 3rd party measure (using a tape measure) from your eye to the computer monitor, the keyboard and any material that you are working from, in inches. Just bring those distances in with you and we will design your own Computer Correction.
Reading Correction
If you are an avid reader or enjoy spend several hours at a time reading, then you really need a separate Reading Prescription. Just let us know that reading is a necessity or a passion - we can help!
Safety Prescriptive Eyewear
If you are a weekend gardner, a handyman working around your home, or concerned about protecting your eyes from the hazards of flying objects, then we need to talk about your own Safety Prescriptive Eyewear.
Special Needs Eyewear
Do you play the piano, sing in the choir, paint, fish, hunt, conduct the orchestra, or have other Special Needs? If so, a separate correction designed just for those occasions may make the difference in your comfort, accuracy, and overall pleasure in fully enjoying your hobbies or extracurricular activities!
